THE RAM FOUNDATION IN THE NEWS

“Statistics show that crime rates increase among children and teens during the summer,” said Stover. “Gang recruitment increases, and they want to get them when they are young.  We believe that if we can give a child a dream, something beyond what he or she sees every day, get them to open up their hearts and minds to the possibilities, it is better for the child.  Without a dream, there is no purpose.  So we try to give them that dream and something new to think about.  Your conditions do not determine who you are.  Your dream is real.  Go for it.”

The RAM Foundation Donates Teddy Bears to Homless Students

November 24, 2015

The Ram Foundation of the Midlands, led by retired Richland One teacher Dr. Mary Stover, donated Teddy Bears for homeless students and students displaced by the recent flood. Deborah Boone, the district’s McKinney-Vento coordinator, accepted the Teddy Bears on behalf of the PASS (Parents and Students Succeed) Project, Richland One’s homeless initiative. The presentation was made at the Columbia Fire Department headquarters on Laurel Street. The Ram Foundation also donated Teddy Bears for First Responders.
